Sunrise at Borobudur

The largest Buddhist temple in the world listed in the UNESCO world heritage, the Borobudur Temple is a must visit when visiting Yogyakarta.  The best time to experience the Borobudur Temple is during sunrise from the top or second top tier of the temple. The sun will rise behind Merapi volcano where the early morning light gives the stupas a unique glow.

Sand Dune at Parangkusumo

The Paragkusumo Sand dune in Yogyakarta is the result of volcanic material from Mount Merapi which was carried by the current of the Progo river and the Opak River then settled. The sediment was continuously hit by the waves. At that time, the sand grains carried by the wind and crashed and formed the sand dune which are now known as Gumuk Pasir. 

A must visit destination as the only sand dune in Indonesia, visited by many couples pre-wedding sessions and a favorite spot for photographers. Located in Parangtritis Village, you can also visit the famous Parangtritis beach as a day trip option.

Breksi Cliff

Breksi Cliff offers the beautiful view of a natural mass rock. This beautiful white tall cliff can become the great object of photography. Visitors can walk around Breksi cliff area or go up the stairs to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Prambanan temple, the city of Yogyakarta and Merapi Volcano. Other than taking picture and enjoying the scenery from the top of the hill, you can also enjoy an art show at Breksi cliff’s amphitheatre performance called Tlatar Seneng stage. Tlatar Seneng holds many kinds of traditional & artistic performances.
